In first grade, Kristin was run over by a classmate on a bicycle, leaving a greasy, black tire track on the back of her dress. She survived, but was forever scarred by all things bicycle. The irony of spending her college years and most of her communications career at UC Davis, the biking capital of the world, has not escaped her.
When she's not dodging students who peddle-while-texting, Kristin develops creative concepts and marketing content for Strategic Communications. She is the lead writer for campuswide branding campaigns and also copy edits for the department. She contributes to the One Health blog and UC Davis Magazine.
Prior to joining Strategic Communications, Kristin directed marketing and communications efforts for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, where she received a CASE award of excellence for her work and helped recruit the most diverse and academically talented freshman class in campus history. She will always have a soft spot for students navigating the college search process. Previously, Kristin worked with the Office of Government and Community Relations.
Off campus, Kristin spent six years with a public relations agency in the San Francisco Bay Area, directing activities for Internet and network infrastructure clients. She does not miss learning about seven-layer networks or pitching stories about router management software. Not even a little.
Kristin has a master's degree in integrated marketing communications from the Medill School at Northwestern University.
She lives in West Sacramento with a very busy baby, a rat terror terrier mix, Jasper, and two goofy cats, Rooney and Crash.
