Craig Farris knows that a user’s experience of a website is a complex equation, not easily reduced to a simple linear graph of user desires vs. institutional goals. Creating a site is a design challenge at the intersection of those goals and desires, as fulfilled in code, copy, image, interaction and architecture.
As Web manager for Strategic Communications since 1998, Craig effectively integrates design and technology to promote UC Davis to internal and external audiences. In support of that goal, he designs, develops and implements high-level interactive websites and applications, including content management systems, as well as other electronic communications, and promotes standards and best practices for all campus sites.
Craig received a bachelor of arts in studio art from UC Davis, and still prefers thinking with a pencil in hand and keeping his weekends analog.
