“Houston we have a problem!” That famous quote from Apollo 13 resonates with Adam.
From a young age, he has been fascinated by science and technology. At 5, he fixed a radio that his father said was unfixable.
From there, Adam learned to MacGyver his way through to a solution — similar to the scene from Apollo 13 when astronauts retrofit a square filter to fit in a round hole using only what the they had in their possession.
As he got older, Adam’s passion split between computer technology and astrophysics. Although he loved learning about the stars in the sky, he couldn’t see it as a career and decided instead to study computer science at UC Davis.
It wasn’t until 2007 that Adam fell in love with the Web while working as a student employee, and his passion has been evolving ever since. To Adam, the Web is a perfect blend of creative design, applied technology and business strategy.
Adam has said frequently to his co-workers, “The Web is a product with no user manual. We need to do all the hard thinking so that the user doesn’t have to.”
