David joins Strategic Communications as a Special Projects Writer. Born and raised in Chicago, he moved to San Francisco after college, working as a barista before landing his first writing job at a university. He relocated to San Diego for his master’s degree in mass communications, and researched public attitudes toward LGBTQ+ media representation for his graduate thesis.

David worked as a digital marketing manager for companies in Los Angeles and New York including a global travel brand and a national nonprofit. Enabled by an enthusiasm for storytelling, he led English- and Spanish-language content and social media campaigns reaching Latine groups. He lived in Boston prior to relocating to Sacramento with his husband and their yorkie-poodle.

During his free time, David can be found training with his running group, reading nonfiction, at his favorite Thai restaurant, or visiting another country.
