Position Title
Executive Communications Manager

Bio

As the executive communications manager, Erin raises the profile of Chancellor May and his university priorities through strategic storytelling, media engagement, and external communications.

Before joining the team, Erin lived in Chicago for seven years and served as the Communications Director for the University of Chicago's Center for Interdisciplinary and Inquiry in Innovation in Sexual and Reproductive Health. She elevated young people's experiences in healthcare and the plaguing disparities in social and health inequities by positioning the center's thought leadership and evidence-based research in national news stories including in CNN, NPR, The Guardian, The New York Times, NBC News, Chicago Tribune and many others.

Erin has led PR and digital communications campaigns for UNICEF, Viacom Networks, Google, The New York Immigration Coalition, and the National Cyber Security Alliance, holding positions in New York and Chicago.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. John's University and a master's degree in international affairs from New York University. Raised in Santa Paula, an agricultural town in Southern California, Erin is glad to be back in her home state and no longer worries about shoveling several feet of snow. She enjoys exploring Northern California with her son and partner.

She once traveled on a real-life Noah's Ark along the Amazon River.

On her backpacking trip in Latin America, she joined local Amazonians on their weekly trip along the Amazon River. Many brought their animals on board to sell, including cows, pigs, birds, goats, and many other species! She will forever treasure waking up in her hammock and watching the sunrise over the rainforest.

New York is where her heart is

One day, she'll return to her beloved Fort Greene neighborhood, living in a rent-subsidized apartment in Brooklyn and eating the most coveted Lox bagels.
