Alexa Carter (she/her) is pursuing a B.A. in Communication, with a minor in Professional Writing. Before joining the Strategic Communications team, Alexa volunteered as a social media intern for UC Davis Athletics her freshman year. It was this very position that sparked her interest in social media. In assisting UC Davis Athletics, Alexa ran their student section Instagram page and experienced what a healthy workplace looks like. After graduation, Alexa hopes to work for a national sports franchise as a social media manager. She seeks an engaging and fulfilling work environment and is looking forward to one day exploring what the world has to offer.

In her time as a UC Davis social media intern Alexa has worked on numerous projects. She designed the branding guide and created most of the content on social media for the UC Davis Brand COVID-19 communications. Alexa has brainstormed, project managed, and created content for Ask an Aggie, a YouTube series that interviews UC Davis students about their college experience. Most notably, Alexa participated in The Middle of Everywhere video series where she and a fellow intern received the opportunity to visit Bodega Bay and Lake Tahoe to document their day trip experience. She got to visit the UC Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory and Tahoe Environmental Research Center. 

Alexa is from La Quinta, CA, and chose UC Davis because of their pre-vet program but quickly discovered that such path was not for her. If it wasn't for the opportunities and experiences the university has offered she would not have discovered her passion for writing. Alexa's favorite part of the UC Davis campus is the CoHo. Her favorite thing to do is sit at the barstools in Swirlz Cafe and watch people walk by while she does her work. A fun fact about Alexa is that for two quarters as an undergraduate student, she has received all A+’s in her classes. In her free time, she enjoys embroidering crewnecks, watching movies, and trying new things with friends. Alexa's favorite movie franchise is Harry Potter. You can catch her spending nights on Toomey Field under the lights playing Spikeball with friends.
