Cody’s love of storytelling can be traced back to a fourth-grade classroom where he penned tales of a turtle’s struggles with everyday life. He eventually went on to write about more serious topics like local politics, crime and state tax law, but he will always have a penchant for the silly.
Growing up in a quiet El Dorado County town, Cody loved to pass time driving around, exploring narrow back roads looking for something new and interesting. He now hopes to share that same sense of discovery through writing and producing multimedia.
He spent a brief stint working in a wastewater treatment facility. He also filled up frozen pizzas, and played bass guitar and the occasional cowbell in a rock band throughout college. Cody is still coming to grips with the fact that he likely will never achieve his childhood dream of a career as a video game tester.
Before coming to UC Davis, he studied at Sacramento State (go Hornets!) and worked as a journalist, where the highlight of his career was speaking to a grade-school newspaper class.
He and his wife, Amanda, live in Sacramento with their two irrepressible kids and spoiled puppy.

When I was in sixth grade, I entered a website design competition at the California State Fair. I won first prize but later realized it was because the organizers had miscategorized me in the kindergarten age group.
