Bio

Campus Life

Julia Ann supports communications on campus and in the media by telling stories at the heart of UC Davis.

She brings a reporter's experience and more than 25 years in higher education to communicating about student life, emergency preparedness, graduate studies, undergraduate education, international programs, libraries and more.

Passionate in her support of emergency preparedness on campus, Julia Ann has braved hurricanes and wildfires as a public affairs volunteer with the disaster services of the American Red Cross.

Before joining UC Davis in 1997, she revitalized media relations at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ont., and pioneered the function at Vermont Law School.

Raised in Canada, Julia Ann earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto and was a daily newspaper reporter with the Kitchener-Waterloo Record. She completed a certificate in marketing through UC Davis Extension.
