Goal: Celebrate high school seniors and transfer students pursuing higher education and encourage younger prospective students

About the Project

UC Davis partnered with the 11th Annual SAYS (Sacramento Area Youth Speaks) Summit College Day to cocreate a College Signing Day event.

The event boasted an attendance of over 800 middle and high school students and over 50 teachers and chaperones from over 21 schools across five school districts in the Sacramento and Yolo county region. Social media videos reached over 159.5k viewers; the video was viewed 145.5k times and 6.7k interacted with this online message. 40 percent of participants visited the UC Davis campus for the first time. We have found that visits to the campus increase the likelihood of admissions applications during recruitment cycles. Additionally, 77 percent of the day’s relevant participants now want to attend college more than they had prior to the event.
